Annyeong! How was your week so far? It's been really exhausting these days as it's examination week before we're gonna enjoy mid semester break next week. :)
Anyway, if you remember my December Haul, you guys probably knew that I got this interesting Black Sugar Strawberry Wash-Off Mask from the Christmas Set that includes the Black Sugar Perfect First Serum that I reviewed previously.
Packaging:
Like the Skinfood best seller product, Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask, or most of the wash-off masks from Skinfood, this one too comes in white-capped, almost transparent tub.
I totally digs the vintage-looking style of the packaging. The illustration looks like strawberry jams, don't you think?
Product Description:

A facial mask that contain mineral-rich Brazilian black sugar along with strawberry seeds (1000mg) and strawberry seed oil (500mg).
Applies smoothly on skin and it leaves skin fresh, clean and fragrant with strawberry scent.
How to use:
After cleansing, massage onto damp face, avoiding the eye and mouth areas.
To minimise irritation, add water or toner while massaging.
Leave for 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Though the ingredients are listed in Hangul, as I read them, Skinfood decided to use Phenoxythanol (like in Black Sugar Perfect First Serum) as preservative. Hopefully in very low and harmless level.
The manufacturing and expire dates were stamped on the side of the tub. It expires after 30 months but do check before buying, okay!
Like other tubs from Skinfood, this one too comes with a lid to prevent spilling but what's interesting, this one has a clear, transparent lid.
As you can see, that's the product. Honestly, it looks like strawberry jam!
Just take generous amount and apply it on your skin! Can you see the sugar grains? It's not really that harsh though.
Verdict:
Though I can't include the before-after photos here, what I can tell you guys is this product is just like the original Black Sugar version, this one too is great for exfoliation purpose. I exfoliate quite regularly so I don't see much dead skin cells on cotton pads whenever I use toners as I continue with my skin care routine.
The difference between this one and the original version is definitely the moisture that it leaves on my skin after usage. My skin feels so much better in terms of texture as it feel really smooth! Though you may see the product seemed oily, I don't feel my skin oily at all. Well, just make sure you wash it off properly. Another difference is the sugar grains. I feel the grains are finer compared to the original version.
The scent. Ah~ the strawberry scent just lingers while putting this on and for awhile after washing it off. But of course the scent is gone after I putting on my moisturiser.
I guess this strawberry version is better compared to the original one, as I prefer more moisture, and the strawberry scent. hehe if you have oily skin, and prefer less scented products, then I guess the original version is a better choice.
Final verdict: 5/5. I love everything about this product! Especially the part that it leaves my skin soft and supple, with Phenoxythanol as preservative. This is one of products that I'd like to recommend if you're looking for a good dual function product i.e. exfoliator plus mask pack.
This product is actually launched last year around October in Malaysia but as I got myself the original version I decided to grab this along with the Christmas Set in December. You guys can get this at the retailed price of RM44 and get 2 Angel stamps for this. :)
