Beauty Talk | Cleaning My Brushes

If there's one thing I could not give up when it comes to makeup is not washing my brushes. I usually wash these babies like once a month as I have multiple brushes for the same function for example I can use one powder brush per week and use another in the next one. But washing all of them together is quite a task so these days I rather wash one set of brush every week so it'll take like at least 15 minutes to go through all of them.

If you're like me who love saving money on certain things when it comes to makeup then you probably know that Detergent for Puff and Sponge from Daiso. Yes! I've been repurchasing this soap to wash my brushes ever since I first bought them. Of course, I've tried using shower gels or bar soap but honestly, using this soap is the most effective and quickest of them all. With weekly usage, washing like 10 brushes at one time, I finished one bottle every 2 to 3 months (there are weeks I don't apply makeup at all, so...).

How to:

First, I filled up my basin with water, enough to soak them brushes then I squeezed out at least 3 drops of that soap. Mix them by stirring.

I used to use old rice paddle before but I discovered this mat also at Daiso that appear to be useful for me to swirl the brush on. I do this so the foundation comes off rather quickly compared to merely using hands.

Just do the circular motion for like 30 seconds per brush or until no makeup detected on the bristles. If the makeup persists, just add a drop of the soap onto the mat and swirl away~

This is not the action of soaking the brush in the water as I usually let it sit for a minute before I rub on the brush handles to clean any traces of foundations on them.

After that just rinse off all of them and as shown on the first photo, I just lay them down on towel under the fan or if possible, the sun to let them dried.

Easy, right? Well, even if you don't have these tools, you can just wash your brush using the regular ways you're used to if you don't mind taking your time doing it. :)

I hope this post helps so do let me know if you wanna share different simpler method washing makeup brushes by leaving comments down below.

Until next post, annyeong~
