Review | THE FACE SHOP Natural Sun Eco Oil-Cut Sun Cream SPF40 PA++

Wednesday 30 November 2016
I usually review a sunscreen product around middle of the year but quite honestly, I've been using my cushion foundation for most days and only stick with sunscreen during weekends. Still, I'm going to share with you guys my thoughts on this very product from THE FACE SHOP

Just look at that bright orange colour. So pretty!

Product Description:
An oil-control sun cream that contains sebum absorbing powder that hides pores and complete a soft skin look.

How To Use:
Apply an adequate amount on the face and neck at the final stage of skincare.

50ml

Packaging:

The design of the box is similar to the rest of Natural Sun Eco line and I'm digging that sunflower! So bright and yellow!

There's the Ingredients list printed on the side of the box, and some key info of the product printed on another side that says the product contains Purified Extract of Sunflower Sprouts, NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor), no animal sourced ingredients with oil control feature.

The product is good for 12 months after opened like any regular skincare item.

Of course, the tube comes in same design as the box with the labels and Korean product summary at the back.

There's the expiry date embossed at the the top edge of the tube but for record, I wrote the month that I opened it so I guess there's a couple of month left before I toss it out.

I got this sunscreen back in June, 2014 but only got around to use this product early this year and I think I only got so little left in the tube for me to use.

The opening of the tube is quite small so it's easy to control the amount of product squeezed out of it.

Verdict:

The product itself is semi-opaque and white in colour and its texture is soft and creamy. I have to say that it's easy to blend out when it's not dried yet but if I leave for a minute or two, it's quite hard to even it out on my facial area. It's important to dispense the product onto your hand and take a bit by bit while spreading it onto your skin.

Left: Blended out, indoor lighting Right: with flash.

I do love the finishing as it makes my skin looks soft, brightened slightly and the oil control is actually quite good. It doesn't irritate my skin, feels light and easy to reapply. It does have white cast but not that visible under my foundation or powder. Ingredients wise, this sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide that both provides UVA and UVB protection.

Quick info, UVA rays penetrate deep into the dermis, the skin's thickest layer. Unprotected exposure can lead to premature skin aging and wrinkling (photoaging), and suppression of the immune system. UVB rays will usually burn (tan) the superficial layers of your skin. It plays a key role in the development of skin cancer. So, boys and girls! Please use sunscreen both indoor and outdoor. Reapply every few hours.

Overall, I'd give this sunscreen 4.5/5. Half point minus as I need to work fast with this one before it sets on my skin. Would love to repurchase however I already saw the product being repackaged or upgraded though I'm not sure whether there are changes in terms of the ingredients. Still, this variant from the sun care line is the one with sebum-controlling function.
